This course provides a foundational understanding of AI, empowering you to harness its power to enhance your work and organization while staying ahead in a rapidly advancing world.

Many times, when new technologies emerge in our world, people often feel a fear of losing something whether it’s their beliefs, lifestyles, or ways of working. This fear of technology isn't new—it’s been around since the Industrial Revolution. However, history has shown that humans eventually adapt and learn to benefit from the technologies of that time. Today, we live in a world that is surrounded by artificial intelligence or AI. Many innovations, modern devices, and tools are powered by intelligent AI technology. As these technologies evolve, our lives and work are changing faster than ever before. So learning about AI even at a basic level, you’ll gain an understanding of how it works and how to harness its power. With this foundational knowledge, you'll be able to develop and improve AI tools to enhance your work and your organization. Moreover, you’ll gain the skills to stay ahead of the curve and maximize the advantages of the latest AI advancements in our rapidly changing world.

- This course is designed for everyone. No prior knowledge is required.

Course type:
This is a core course (C) in the Master of Engineering program in Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (International Program) offered by Thammasat University and SkillLane.

Grading Criteria:
This course consists of 1) Quizzes, which account for 50% of the grade, 2) Final Exam, which accounts for 50% of the grade, Grades will be assigned based on the following scheme:

A 90-100
A- 85-89.99
B+ 80-84.99
B 75-79.99
B- 70-74.99
C+ 65-69.99
C 60-64.99
D 50-59.99
F 0-49.99

Instructor Background:
Dr. Suradej Duangpummet
Currently, Dr. Suradej is a researcher in the AI Research Group at the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC). He has academic expertise in various fields including Embedded systems, AI/ML, and Signal processing. 

Dr. Suradej completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Pathumwan Institute of Technology, Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Asian Institute of Technology, Ph.D. in Engineering and Technology, Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University, and Ph.D. in Information Science, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Japan.

Dr. Surasak Boonkla
Currently, Dr. Surasak is a researcher at the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC). He has an expertise in various fields including embedded systems, machine learning, speech signal processing, speaker diarization, speaker voice and recognition/verification.

Dr. Surasak completed his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Master’s degree in Information and Communication Technology for Embedded Systems (ICTES), Sirindhorn International Institute Technology, Thammasat University and Ph.D. in information science, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Japan.

Dr. Kasorn Galajit
Currently, Dr. Kasorn is a researcher in the AI Research Group at the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) and special instructor at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thammasat University. She has academic expertise in various fields including Embedded Systems and IoTs, Machine Learning, Speech Signal Processing, and Data Analysis.

Dr. Kasorn completed her Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Master’s degree in Microelectronics Engineering, Asian Institute of Technology, Ph.D. in Engineering and Technology, Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thammasat University, and Ph.D. in Information Science, School of advanced engineering, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Japan.
