chanutr began to play drums at the age of 15. In 2002, he earned an award “Winner of the Best Drummer in the Open League Category” from Thailand Drum Contest No.1 which was organized through a cooperation of Percussive Art Society International Convention (PASIC). After winning this award, Nu Vudthivichai (a renowned Thai pianist) offered him a full-time position at Thailand’s most recognized College of Music–Silpakorn University where he had the privilege of playing in Silapakorn Jazz Faculty Ensemble (also known as ‘Mansri’) with pianist Nu Vudthivichai, bassist Dome Hayodom, and saxophone Pisut Prateepasena. This has been of great importance to his development of musical and technical ideas. Chanutr has performed with many renowned international and Thai jazz artists including Ernie Watts, Jeremy Monteiro, Javon Jackson, Eugene Pao, Tots Tolentino, Randy Cannon, David Gomes, Michael Veerapan, Dan Phillips, Francois Lindemann, Mahidol University Jazz Faculty Ensemble (Pomelo Town), ‘Koh’ Mr. Saxman, ‘Meaw’ Chirasak Panphum, Arnon’s Jazz Band, Stonehead, Denny & Friends and OMAH. Chanutr can also be heard in the “Organamix” trio led by Singapore’s “King of Swing” Jeremy Monteiro and Andrew Lim in which their live album “Organamix – Grovin’ at Groove Juncion group” was recently nominated for the 10th Annual Independent Music Award (IMA) for Best Live Performance Album Category. Organamix was the first Southeast Asian group nominated for this award. He is currently a full-time Drums Instructor and Jazz Studies Coordinator at the Faculty of Music (Jazz Studies), Silpakorn University and continues to perform extensively at both local and international jazz venues.
